General Engineering Works, Thuravoor (GEW) is a unit of SILK has a strong history of exquisite craftsmanship and engineering in the steel products and services arena. Having an excellent background with extensive range of products and services in steel fabrication and heavy engineering, steel furniture, GEW has gained an enviable position in goodwill and reputation. The unit has recently upgraded the machines to improve quality of product and services and expand product range. In order to enhance the business prospects, company is doing projects and fabrication works like Sheet metals works, security and surveillance system, High mast Lighting, Food courts, Steel Bridges, Steel Storage tank, Powder coating works etc. Also we are manufacturing specialized hi-tech hospital furniture’s for various hospital applications with an annual production capacity of 600 MT per year.Area : 2.5 Acres Location Situated at Thuravoor Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha on the side of Panavel to Cape Comorin- National Highway (NH 66). So this location is very apt for the steel furniture showroom and for the industry. The total area available is 2.5 Acres, and is adequate for the industry.
INFRASTRUCTURE AVAILABLE
Sufficient plant and machineries are readily available for the production purpose. Plant area available is 22,250 square feet and is sufficient for the expansion of the unit if any. In addition to this, a new powder coating plant with 2680 square feet area is provided with acid treatment tank with 1400 square feet. The packing section is provided in continuation to the powder coating plant with an area of 1400 square feet. A showroom is also provided with an area of 3400 square feet. Vehicles can move around the factory as per the Fire and Safety Rules.
